SJTU Delegation Attended Chinese Education Fair in Mongolia
International student center of SJTU attended the Chinese Education Fair in Mongolia from 12th to 13th November, 2015. This education fair is jointly held by Asian Education Institute of Mongolia, Shanghai Foreign Language Study Center and Federation of Secondary-School Students of Mongolia. This is the first time SJTU attends education fair in Mongolia.
During the two-days of education fair, SJTU booth attracted more than 500 students to come to consult. We’re also pleased to learn that, in recent years, the number of Mongolian students learning Chinese language is increasing rapidly, as well as the number of students studying in China. Meanwhile, more than 40 middle schools in Mongolia have opened Chinese language courses for students.
The SJTU delegation also visited National University of Mongolia and UI TSAI Secondary School, and reached primary intents on cooperation with the latter.
According to the statistics, the average number of Mongolian students studying in China is around 7,000 each year, which is a quite large number for a country with only 3 million of population. But at present, there are only 23 Mongolian students studying at SJTU, including 19 degree students and 4 exchange students, which needs us to develop proper strategy to enroll more students.
