2017 SJTU International Student Creativity Competition

1.Introduction
Topic: “International Life Through My Own Eyes”
Contestants: all SJTU international students
Form: Any and all creations are eligible for the competition. Photography, drawings and paintings, handicraft, cartoons, literature and poetry, music, and more – any and all creative works relating to the theme of international student life – will qualify you to join this competition.
(*Qualified works should fall within the categories of “Art” or “Skill.” Judging professors may disqualify works that they deem fall outside of these categories.)
Art category: Photography, video/movie, painting, etc.
Skill category: Handicraft, cartoon, writing, etc.

2. Competition plan and timeline
Submit entries: April 25-May 15, 2017.
Competition begins (First elimination round): May 17, 2017. Top 20 entries will be announced for continuing to the final round.For the 20 entries chosen to continue to the final round, there will be a one-week period during which students will be permitted to refine their original work to perfection.
Final round: Each of the 20 contestants chosen for the final round will be permitted to participate. Each will present the final version of their entry, for review by an audience of students and judges. Each contestant will have 1-2 minutes to display and introduce their entry. Finally, ballots will be cast to determine the top entries!

3. How to submit your entry:
Please submit your entries in electronic form to the following e-mail address: sjtulxscyds@163.com
Subject: Student name – Student number – Country of Origin
Deadline: May 15, 2017
*How to prepare your attachment—Depending on the type of entry, please follow the rules as below:
For photography: Submit final versions of photographs. If the entry consists of a movie, submit the video file (formats: videos in MP4 format, photos in JPG format). If the product is handicraft, painting or other similar artwork, send two high-resolution images. SUBMIT ALL FILES IN A SINGLE .ZIP ARCHIVE!

Introduction to the product: Include a description of your entry in no more than 150 characters (Chinese) 250 words (English), including your name, country of origin and telephone number.

5. Notice
1.  The content, form and style of the work are not limited. Both coloured, and black-and-white are allowed. The work should not involve violence, pornography, politics, taboos in religious practice.
2. Contestants must be the owner of their work, and must be responsible for the legitimate rights and interests (including but not limited to, portrait rights, reputation rights, privacy rights etc.) of the objects in the work. Any conflicts and disputes must be resolved by the contestants. 
3.  The work must not be released for commercial purpose or be awarded prizes before, the participant also agrees that the host can use the work for non-commercial purpose, the host will not pay for the work.
4.  Any work or information that is not in accordance to the requirements are considered invalid.
5. Participants who upload their work are automatically considered as participating in the contest and agreeing to the above rules and regulations. The decisions of the host is considered final.
